The iPhone 12 series was unveiled last month. After a delay of more than a month from its usual launch time frame, Apple had unveiled four new iPhones—iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max—for the first time in its history. The iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro went on sale in India last week. Today, the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 12 Pro Max went on pre-orders in India. Apple’s mini-sized, AI-powered smart speaker, the HomePod mini, went on pre-order as well.

The Apple iPhone 12 mini is the company’s smallest new smartphone, and it measures just 131.5×64.2×7.4mm and weighs 135g. It sports a 5.4-inch OLED screen with Full HD+ resolution, up to 625 nits of typical brightness and up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness, Dolby Vision, wide colour gamut, and True-Tone colour temperature adjustments. The screen is protected using Apple’s proprietary Ceramic Shield Glass protection.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max is the tech giant’s biggest smartphone ever measuring 160.8×78.1×7.4 mm and weighing 228g. It has a 6.7-inch OLED screen with Full HD+ resolution, and it can reach a typical brightness of up to 800 nits and a peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits. Other screen features of the phone remain similar to that of the iPhone 12 mini.

The iPhone 12 mini has a 12MP dual-camera setup, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max has a 12MP triple-camera setup. The iPhone 12 has a 12MP wide-angle camera with an F1.6 aperture, OIS, dual-pixel autofocus, and 1.4µm pixels. The 12MP ultrawide camera has an F2.4 aperture and 13mm ultrawide lens. The iPhone 12 Pro Max has the same two cameras as that of the iPhone 12 mini, but also features an additional 12MP telephoto camera (with 2.5x optical zoom lens and OIS) and a LiDAR sensor.

Both iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max use 12MP selfie camera and Face ID systems for 3D face recognition. All the cameras on these two phones can record up to 4K 60fps videos. The iPhone 12 mini can record up to 4K 30fps Dolby Vision HDR videos, but the iPhone 12 Pro Max can go up to 4K 60fps Dolby Vision HDR videos.

The iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 12 Pro Max use the A14 Bionic processor and run iOS 14. The iPhone 12 mini has 4GB RAM, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max has 6GB RAM. The iPhone 12 mini comes in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage variants, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max is available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage variants.
